I thought this was pretty neat. Jay Weinberg likes to use electronic drums as a warmup, practice and writing tool while on tour with Slipknot. In the description of the video it mentions how he’s putting two VAD506 kits together to better mimic the scope of his stage kit.
Of course, this video is a couple years old, so thing may have changed since then, but it gives you an idea of how the pros are using electronic drums out there. Playing drums for a band on this level sure looks like it has some perks!
This also shows how much striking power some of the pro-level electronic drum kits can handle. Jay plays hard!
